New forms of SPAM, attachments embedded in PDF format and different types of images, take weeks flooding SMTP traffic networks on the Internet.

QuitaSpam antispam collaborative platform is formed by a number of management companies and affiliates that each day can improve the service to eliminate spam mailboxes of users fighting this great plague of the Internet age.Electronic mail has become the predominant form of communication between business, however large numbers of workers who receive messages are spam.

The consequences of this phenomenon are known:
? Reduces worker productivity.
? Consume capacity system.
? Increases the security risks.
? It damages the quality of service.

The National Institute of Communication Technologies conducted between January 1 and March 11, 2008, a study on the status, nature and economic and social impact of unwanted email spam.

One of the most revealing findings was that counted the amount of spam in Spain, according to the study: 84.6% of emails circulating in Spain over the Internet are spam.

Other findings of interest:

The volume analyzed by the network of sensors INTECO clearly indicates that United States, China, Russia and South Korea sent more than 50% of unwanted messages you receive in Spain.

Spain is placed in the eleventh place in the global generation of spam since 2006, behind countries like United States, China, South Korea and France. While these are progressively reduced emission levels, in Spain the figure has doubled production of spam in less than a year.

The time that each worker devotes to remove spam from your mailbox, it is between two and four minutes per day on average. Just for the loss of time involved in removing spam, in 2007 the economic cost associated with each worker who uses a daily email at work is estimated at ? 179.

Spam is not just locked into the barriers of the Internet, but attempts to reach the mobile, which currently suffers through SMS and MMS, Telephony and Voice over IP (VoIP).
