Spain is the fifth largest issuer of spam (junk emails) World of Europe and second, to generate 2.74 percent of the messages, according to data compiled by antivirus firm Sophos during the first quarter. Sophos notes that the "spam" broadcast from the United States has declined 12 points during the first three months of the year, because the ISPs have begun to eliminate services to issuers of junk mail.
It also draws attention to the fact that more than half of the spam comes from computers worldwide "zombie" computers infected by hackers without the knowledge of the owner. Therefore, Sophos believes that the strong progression of South Korea and to a lesser extent, France and Spain, "does not necessarily mean that the spammers are more numerous in these countries."
