A Veriat Digital ID establishes your identity to others that you communicate with. Digital IDs contain a unique digital code which can be used to verify your digital signature or encrypt messages. How does it work? When you send an email from an email application such as Microsoft Outlook, Veriat Client attaches a small certificate to the email's body. Upon arrival of the email at the receipient's mailbox, the receipient's Veriat Client checks the authenticity of the certificate locally and then checks the sender's Veriat Digital ID with the Veriat Certificate Authority (VCA). In keeping with Veriat's strict privacy policy, this is done WITHOUT sending the content of your email to Veriat. If the email's certificate and the sender's Veriat Digital ID are valid, the email is

considered authentic and is treated accordingly. However, if the sender's certificate and/or digital ID is invalid, for any reason, the email is marked as "non-certified" as treated according to your instructions. Veriat Client, together with Veriat's Certification and Authentication Service, allows you to effectively manage all certified and non-certified emails that are directed at you or your company. Parental Control Feature Veriat Client’s Parental Control limits access to uncertified emails. The feature restricts access to uncertified emails, which may contain unsuitable content. Launch Veriat Client. 2. Click on “Users” from the main interface. 3. Select “Change User” from the drop down list.
